Words Of Farewell - Immersion album cover

WORDS OF FAREWELL is a German bandthat formed in early 2007. A Melodic Progressive Death Metal band that recently released their debut album "Immersion" through AFM-Records. A cool fat sounding album with a growling singer who's able to crawl fast in between the musical lines stretched out.

I had to look up immersion inside the dictionary, because I had no idea what it meant. Found three words to explain that one word that all together kind of fits "taking a dive inside" or "drown oneself inside" and I didn't even realize how fitting that was until I started to listen to WORDS OF FAREWELL with their album "Immersion". I'm truly impressed by the way they've been able to use the Melodic Death Metal sound to create a world for all to see, if they dare to jump on board of "Immersion".

WORDS OF FAREWELL managed to create with their album "Immersion" a deep sea diving feel, with sweet views and fast as a shark moving attitudes. A deadly atmosphere despite the soft hearted melodies in between and even the vocals can be heard as it's sung below the water surface. Their Facebook page says "Witnessing Worlds Going Down!", but I guess they meant Witnessing Worlds Drown! Deadly and melodic, but also fast in a heavy metal way that made me think about a fast moving metal armored creature ready to destroy everything in its way, but a creature that has feelings somewhere somehow in between its destructive ways of being alive.

WORDS OF FAREWELL shows skilled players that do feel at home inside the world they've created to scoop around. The fat sound they've created on their album "Immersion" is bubbling explosive and high wave strong, like they don't need a solid ground to stand on, simply because they've created their own atmosphere where they feel like a fish in the water. And with that they did a most excellent job, in special considering the fact that "Immersion" is their debut album.
