Wolfetone - Silence is Acquiescence album cover

Now that 2015 is upon us, it's very likely that I'll get promos for new releases coming out in this new year and todays promo just happens to be one of those and it's a British album which makes this the first British album I've heard in 2015, and the umpteenth British release I've heard, as I have heard plenty of releases made in my own country, since starting my writing career for this site, and not once have I been let down by what I have heard so will that streak continue or will it be broken for the first time? Let us find out.

The promo in question is "Silence is Acquiescence" by WOLFETONE and it will be released on February 23rd 2015. This quintet are from the Milton Keynes and Northampton areas of the UK and in 2014, they made themselves known to the world and their debut album will be made available for us all to hear in a couple of months time.

One thing that has always impressed me with the British albums I have heard since becoming a music journalist is the consistency in quality as there's not been one album I've heard from the UK so far that has had appalling quality in the music as it's always  clear for most of the time meaning you can hear every note, every word and every melody. That tradition of clear and consistent quality continues with this album the moment you play it as you get to hear the heavy guitar riffs, the pounding drum beats and some pretty groovy bass lines.

Anything that could need improving? The vocal performance is good on this album, if not a bit hit and miss in a couple of places but that doesn't really matter for the most part, but I do think that either the rest of the band need turning down or the vocals need turning up a bit as at times, the music seems to overpower the vocals making some of the lyrics hard to make out but other then that, it's pretty solid all around in terms of the consistent quality which I look for.

Verdict time now and I do apologize for the short review but this is a band that only formed recently so often it can be hard finding out info on them to write about. "Silence is Acquiescence" by WOLFETONE is a good first album from this new British band and despite any issues I may have addressed in this review, this album and indeed this band continue the streak of good British releases I have heard since becoming a music journalist and I look forward to seeing what these bands come up with next for us to check out and enjoy.
