Three years after the "Good To Be Bad", album, David Coverdale and his band , WHITESNAKE, are back!!! And what a treat they have in store for us this year. WHITESNAKE have been around for a good 30 + years. Coverdale started the band after leaving DEEP PURPLE with an intention of it to become a solo project and that is what WHITESNAKE has been since it was formed. However, with a group of great musicians surrounding him and making both him and them to look good, it became an all out band.

From R&B to Heavy Metal, Coverdale has done it all and with the exception of a lot of singers that have players passing by, Coverdale has always known very well how to let everything, especially his guitar players, shine. On the new record, that is just what happened. Co-producer and lead guitar player, Doug Aldrich, was heard all over this record, and his style of playing and composing and even his own touch on the production, was showed quite clearly.

The album starts with "Steal Your Heart Away", a typical WHITESNAKE song, but with a Southern Rock twist. Right from the slide guitar intro you can hear that Doug Aldrich is taking control of the music just as John Sykes did in the 80s.

The record has everything you would expect from a WHITESNAKE record. Cool choruses that will make you sing-along even if it is the first time you are listening to the song and don't even know the lyrics. The awesome guitar solos from both Aldrich and Beach, catchy ballads that every girl likes and of course the driving songs like "Dogs in the Street", "Whipping Boy Blues" and "My Evil Ways". The latter is the fastest and heaviest song on the record. It seemed that these songs were made for the stereo of your car !!! Just as "Here I Go Again" or "Still Of The Night".

On this new album, Coverdale recruited a new rhythm section that consisted of Michael Devin on the bass and Brian Tichy on drums. Both did an amazing job. Tichy's drumming is amazing and fits the likes of the record just as a bikini on a supermodel and we all know how much WHITESNAKE likes supermodels. All of that with Coverdale's vocals on top that I still think those sound amazing and even stronger and solid than 10 or 20 years ago.

Production wise, the album was produced by the Los Bros Brutalos (David Coverdale, Doug Aldrich, Michael McIntyre). The overall work was superb. The sound and the vibe of the record really fitted the songs and made this one a really fun one to listen, scream, and dance or whatever you like to do with a great record! Another thing is that WHITESNAKE, like AC / DC and IRON MAIDEN, are a live band and I think that for the first time they really got it and the record sounds very lively and full of energy. Even today with all the loudness wars and over compression this album sounds big and massively dynamic thus making it a sure must for everyone who respects this band's longtime legacy.
