White Tower who hail from Thessaloniki, Hellas ,Greece return with their sophomore album “Night Hunters”. The band formed in 2020 also released their debut EP “Terminator”. In 2022 the band released their debut album “White Tower”. With the debut album and EP , their high energy old school live shows White Tower developed a strong name for their selves, in turn building a fan base in the underground scene. With also a new line up comes a new sound for the band evolving from classic Heavy Metal in their first era to a US speed/power inspired by the 80's sound.

Crashing thunder, guitars with a little mellow break of eerie whispering ”Blood” is an intro to the pounding drums start “Total Evil” which is a full on onslaught heavy riffs, heavy melody ,screaming vocals, ”Night Hunters” has some high intensity drumming which sound technically really good, as does the guitar riffs which are very intricate but fast and ballsy not just for this track but the whole album. ”Knife In The Back”, ”War Monger” and the ferocious “Enforcer” also carry on that full ferocious energy headbanging stuff, good but also predictable. ”Banshee” has that classic Heavy Metal feel galloping, chugging riffs ,good vocals with a nice guitar solo. ”Tear Up The Night” & “Early Warning” are delivered old school really tearing it up the former reminds me a bit of Accept.”Malice And Lust” ends the album another heavy track, although I was expecting a more faster speed sound ,this track is heavy with modern underground melodies.

“Night Hunters” is a good Heavy Metal album. There are lots of these bands around with this sound but fall below par and White Tower are definitely not one of them! You can hear the technicality in the guitar work, the drums which is all very intricate and fast paced which takes great musicianship to pull it off, combined with some great vocals. With that all been said the album did not have much variety for me which I would like to have seen a bit of, but a really good nostalgic headbanging, devil horns material, definitely worth checking out.
