JANE is/was a long-running German band that - most likely - shall not mean something to hardrockers and metalheads. 'Raised' in the early 70s and brought to the fans' attention along with legendary Prog Rock compatriot acts like ELOY and BIRTH CONTROL, they are best memorable to followers of the genre due to their legendary Together (1972) debut album. With a series of albums and lineup changes, it's original keyboardist Werner Nadolny who's responsible for the Proceed With Memories... CD, building on a songlist to 'transcribe' his tribute to JANE founding member/drummer/singer Peter Panka who sadly passed away in 2007.
A point of interest, for the Metal community, regarding this release is the participation of the one and only Jutta Weinhold (BRESLAU, ZED YAGO, VELVET VIPER). The divine lady's astonishing voice is here again; surely we've missed her. Whoever's familiar with Jutta's so far career may have distinguished she can sing virtually everything, hence her contribution to the emotional dogma of the album's songs is unquestionable. In a duo performance with Geff Harrison (the singer of 70s German Rock band KIN PING MEH and a successful solo artist and composer), whose voice has a 'rusty' color equivalent to the one of Joe Cocker, the result is nothing less than a fine piece tying well with...
...the emotional Rock/Prog music making by the hands of Werner Nadolny. The concept is quite touching, anyway. Fine melodies, nice keys with a 70s aura, calm tempos most of the times, tranquil acoustic guitars and the story goes. Proceed With Memories... may have not that much in common with hardrockin' music but - in any way - fans of Jutta Weinhold plus music lovers who occasionally seek for Rock music full of melodies will surely find enough interesting moments in this one. At a fair price, you're welcome to own this disc.
