Warpath - Bullets For A Desert Session album cover

WARPATH is a thrash metal band from Hamburg Germany and "Bullet For A Desert Session" is their first release in 11 years and is a full length twelve track album. WARPATH provides a unique experience with "Bullet For A Desert Session" many tracks contrast each other and complement each other. It is different from a lot of albums I have listened to. "Reborn" opens the album on a high note, well not on a literal high note but this song is lethal. I feel this track sums up the album perfectly. "I Don't Care" follows and manages to keep the same gruesome sound as the first, with top notch production the guitars  jump out when needed and sink away into the background at the necessary times. The bass was punchy and more than audible something which is often overlooked. Two tracks in and warpath already have me hooked.

"When War Begins" slows down the pace and by doing so, gives us one of the most memorable songs on the album. The delivery of the 'war' is just perfect - it is backed up by heavy guitars and thumping drums. The entire album benefits from this slower track now WARPATH have shown the power of this, hopefully many other bands will follow. "A Bullet For A Desert Session" the title track of the album does not disappoint. Its atmospheric dark and moody opening gets anyone prepared for the anthem that follows. Low mumbled vocals create a feeling of dread for the listener. When the words 'I was in hell' are spoken, shivers will run up your spine. This album is definitely something I would and will be listening too in the future due to the fact of the sheer talent this band brings to the table - excellent guitars above excellent singing and outstanding everything else.

WARPATH have shocked and stunned me with this piece, I didn't expect it but looking back I should have. Any metal fan will find this album a pleasure to listen to and I belie this has kick-started a magnificent comeback for warpath.
