Warner Drive - Till The Wheels Fall Off album cover

WARNER DRIVE bring out a good dose of freshness straight out of Hollywood with their Till the Wheels Fall Off, a well-played, technically good release ready to place itself transversally in the scene out for Dead End Exit Records. The album starts off with "My Devotion", a well balanced fusion between metal and rockabilly, something VOLBEAT taught us about. Next is "Don't Give Up", a melodic Californian HC track is right on time on memory lane, summoning those youth years made of skateboards, BAD RELIGION, PENNYWISE and all the like. "Drop Dead Gorgeous" will make you remember those early times when 30STM played based on their potential and not on their potential revenues. Killer track "The Darkness" sees electronics, piano and late METALLICA riffs blend perfectly together, along with proper Jonny Law vocals.

Groovy "Karma's A Bitch" is a modern hard rock track with an attitude, building an epic crescendo toward the end. After "Too late for sorry" pop punk rhythms, we see another soft metal - rockabilly child, "LA Psycho Chic", all blended into melodic HC landscapes. "Never Gonna Win" puts RANCID echoes in the mix, while keeping a billboard hit attitude. "Anthem of the Douche" starts as a ballad and then aims for a country and folk cruise speed. Last track "You Make Me Smile" is another surprise, a more nocturnal hit, with once again METALLICA's Reload sounds in its veins. WARNER DRIVE is a surprising release, uplifting on the health of modern rock: these guys know how to package a good record together, showing good instrumental skills and if it may not make you hail as a miracle, at least it will give you a 30 mins smile.
