WARGAZ, from "varg", which means "wolf" in Old Norse, is a Spanish Melodic Death Metal band formed in May 2013. They released this debut demo just last November. It was produced by the band themselves and Recorded and mixed at MBG Audio.

The demo showcases the great musicianship of the band and a very solid songwriting rooted in old school Melodic Death with a touch of Black Metal. Javi Cortés' deep guttural vocals contribute greatly to the harsh, rough feeling of this record which indeed gives the impression it has been recorded somewhere in the 90s.

The most interesting track has to be "If Below a Tree I Rested", a track no fan of the genre would ignore. With its compelling variations and the interesting guitar work, this is a definitely a song I would revisit later. "Decline of Mankind" was a very solid track as well, however, the last one, namely "Thy Nearby Domination" felt a little repetitive and weak compared the previous ones.

Overall, it's a great effort for a first step by the Spaniards. We should expect to hear from them again soon!
