Not a such big fan of American Death Metal scene, bands like CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEICIDE and MORBID ANGEL, however regarding MORBID ANGEL, they are important for this review and that is because Steve Tucker, founder of WARFATHER and also plays guitar and vocals on this new release, was part of MORBID ANGEL in the years 1997-2001, 2003-2004, which makes WARFATHER an attractive band. "Orchestrating The Apocalypse" was already floating since 2012, however only came to life on 2014.
I found it very hard to listen to this album, however after a few listens (more than a few) I started to understand the concept. First of all Steve Tucker's vocals are superb, a very low growling that I found very aggressive and yet was able to comprehend the lyrics and that's a great thing for any Death Metal album. In addition, it's very hard not to notice the guitar work in the album; all songs have an amazing guitar riffing progression that blends great with the vocals
If I will have to choose the best songs I can say that "Ageless Merciless" is a great demonstration of Steve Tucker's vocals alongside Armatura's guitar divers riffing, there is also "Gods and Machines" that has a great riffing and torn into a massive assault that define all the album, however the best song on the album is "We Are the Wolves", a very good song with a great chorus.
Although not my cup of tea, I found it to be a great album.
