Waldgeflüster hails from Germany, founded in 2005 and is a one-man-band and this man is Winterherz. "Femundsmarka" is the second full-length album after one demo and the debut "Herbstklagen".

Melancholy is just a feeling in life but in music is so much more. It's not a chapter or an era. It's a whole universe. A unique form of expression, that is being expressed well only by musicians that need to write this kind of music .I strongly believe that Winterherz is such a musician.

"Femundsmarka" has a big palette of colors. Filled with shades of grey. And before i say  anything else about the album i first must refer to the first and last track: "Prolog - Aufbruch" and "Epilog - Heimkehr" as classical/acoustic guitar melancholic masterpieces.

"Femundsmarka" is filled with melodies. Slow multi-picking black metal melodies so nostalgic and strong that could carry the emotional weight of the songs even if there weren't any other instruments. Fortunately there are nice rhythm guitars greatly supporting those melodies and really nice drum rhythms shifting from slow playing to blastbeats.The vocals also shift from extreme to clean or combined. And the clean ones really, really serve a cause. Every note in this seven-track album produced by guitar,vocals or piano (third track "Rast") is talking about a specific topic. Melancholy, nature (lyrical themes), sadness. And the colaboration of those notes is perfect.

I would really like to point-out that it's a great thing to realise that there are one-man-bands out there. Because some things are too personal and can't be expressed through a team (full-band). Good thing that "Waldgefluster" has a full line up for live purposes.
