Volcano - Violent album cover

Who says that Japanese don't have the right to play Heavy Metal? Volcano is one of the very few bands that managed to brake the borders of Japan and they are about to release worldwide their debut album which is called Violent. These guys deserve an international career and let's see why.

First of all their music is really powerful yet melodic. They play Heavy Metal the way it should be played. The guitars play the main part on the show of Volcano. She-Ja is one of the top Japanese guitar players and if you hear this album it's pretty clear why. His riffs are aggressive and full of power. His solos melodic and very interesting. He can stand next to many USA and European guitar players without any problem. The vocals are very powerful too. Nov is good enough to sing on a Heavy Metal band. He doesn't seem to have the amazing vocal abilities but as I said before his vocals are powerful so they match pretty good with the Heavy Metal style of the band. The rhythm session does his job pretty well too. All the songs are above average and this album is definitely a great start for this band. The production it's very good and it's important to mention that the album was mixed by Fredrik Nordstrom! If you like powerful Heavy Metal with smart touches of melody then you should give a chance to Volcano. Their music creates an unbreakable wall of sound which will easily satisfy all the fans of good Heavy Metal music. All the guys but especially She-Ja are very talented. The only drawback that I can find is that there's not a 'hit' song on this album that can catch the attention of the metal fans. It's an album which needs a couple of good listenings. I think that it will appeal to any fan who likes Heavy Metal.

So in a few words Volcano release an album that leaves many promises for the future. It's highly recommended by me if you like Heavy Metal. This is only their debut. Let's see what can this guys do. Great job!
