Formed in 2016 out of Hamburg, Germany comes the Doom/Death metal band VOIDHAVEN and their first EP entitled "Voidhaven". The two song EP is a very well constructed piece of art. This is by far one of the best EP's I have had the pleasure of reviewing since I started writing for Metal Temple. If you are a fan of MY DYING BRIDE I cannot stress enough how much you will enjoy this band. For a new band they absolutely killed it on this. I cannot wait to hear more from these guys in the future. What Jakob, Martin, Phil, Simon and Marcos have put together here will definitely be going into my playlist.

The first track which is almost nine minutes long called "The Floating Grave" starts off super depressing. You can feel the sorrow pouring out from the very beginning. But then out of nowhere comes the deep and evil sounding death metal. It's truly a mixture that goes back and forth throughout the entire song. I had to listen to this song a few times just to make sure I didn't miss anything. It's absolutely glorious.

The second song "Beyond the Bounds of Sleep" starts off pretty melancholic as well but it's not overbearing with clean vocals. The song is pretty brutal as far as Death/Doom goes. The best part of the song is from 0:00 to 9:17. I really can't put into words how amazing this EP is. It has a little bit of everything you would want in a Death/Doom metal album. You don't have to take my word for it though. You can go purchase their EP on their bandcamp page and see for yourself.
