Salvador, Bhaia situated in Brazil is going to be getting a very dark, deadly awakening in the form of Black Metal duo VERMIS MORTEM as they bring fourth their demo appropriately named "Evil Never Dies".

In most recent months I am starting to come across more bands from South America including NERVOSA, DEMONIC HATE and now VERMIS MORTEM. This Black Metal duo formed in the year 2013 and unleashed this demo of evil world wide in February 2014.

I was gripped in the first few seconds of "Intro" where it sounded like it was recorded in a cave with it's eerie, echoey effect that draws you in from the moment it begins this shadowy journey. As the demo progressed I began to hear hints of EMPEROR and the technological sound effects on "I Hate The World" and "Genocide (Evil Never Dies)" brought EVIL SCARECROW to mind.

It consisted of all the elements of a great Black Metal demo from the high pitched vocals to the fast paced guitar riffs VERMIS MORTEM have certainly done what they were set out to do. What I highly admired about this demo is each track is an open window to what their sound consists of. This demo gives us the glimpse we need to see that they are here and they mean to spread doom and misery with their aggressive music.

From this little review I am adamant in thinking I need to hear and see more from this Black Metal duo. They have a lot of potential to climb the dreaded steps up the Black Metal staircase.
