I wasn't very impressed by the return of VENGEANCE  some years ago. I wasn't really impressed either by "Back In The Ring" or "Same But Different", in 2009 "Soul Collector" was slightly better, but still we were then far from Euro Melodic Metal Classic of 1989 "Arabia".

Here it comes "Crystal Eye" and it's a totally different sensation for me! Their best since ages... Good songs and production... One of the best tracks, "Missing", by VENGEANCE, a song originally composed by Michael Voss (who is lately at the top of his game with such project as VOICES OF ROCK / MSG / WOLFPAKK and the MAD MAX return) for the fabulous of SHORTINO's "Chasing My Dream" album in 2009 (which is featured in my top 10 of that year).

Anyway even if lead singer Leon Goewie (ex-WAY OF THORNS / STONEWASHED / PARCHE) is not Paul Shortino (ex- ROUGH CUTT / QUIET RIOT) the VENGEANCE rendition of the track is brilliant in the same shining path of the full album "Crystal Eye" is... The lineup is amazing with a Dream Team rhythm section: Chris Glen (ex-MSG / THE SENSATIONAL ALEX HARVEY BAND) & Chris Slade (ex-THE FIRM / AC-DC / ASIA etc..) and the very good Timo Somers (DELAIN) the son of original VENGEANCE's guitar player Jan Somers (R.I.P.) who is also featured in the last track: a live solo cut-as a tribute for eternity !
