Black Celestial Orbs
Veiled

March 25, 2018
Hypnotic and atmospheric. Black metal inspired by those who paved the way during the early days. VEILED exists as a formless and entrancing entity weaving through heavy reverberating fogs and howls beyond the veil. A pure devotion to the shadows. VEILED began in 2013 under the moniker "GNOSIS OF THE WITCH". Releasing two EPs and one split the band lasted until 2015 when the name, as well as the entire energy and vibration of the band was changed to VEILED. Since it's rebirth in 2015, VEILED has released one demo cassette, "Omniscient Veil" and in 2017 recorded the debut album "Black Celestial Orbs" in The Grey Studios in Stockholm, Sweden with producer and engineer Heljarmadr (DARK FUNERAL, GRÁ, CURSED 13) and Dimman (GRÁ, CURSED 13, WHEN NOTHING REMAINS) on the drum throne. "Black Celestial Orbs" will see the light of day in March of 2018 on LP via IRON BONEHEAD PRODUCTIONS.
"Luminous" starts with a blaze of dark energy, it's a fast-paced 90 seconds of instrumental intro, until the eerie, low vocals are unleashed by Niðafjöll. The pace remains fiery, but with somehow feeling slow enough to be almost Funeral Doom. The instrumental skills are in true force here, vocals seems to be just in shortened, rage-filled outbursts. Its beautifully dark and the melody is orchestrated perfectly. "Enshrouded" has the same rage-infused dark start as "Luminous", but had the symphonic styles of early BURZUM thrown in for added atmosphere and depth. It takes all pace and tempo away. The melody soon picks back up from once it came, pure instrumental again. This is showing the strength of the band. The odd low outburst from the vocals greets you as a welcomed change, even if they don't last too long. The song goes into a familiar melody once more as it starts to fade away into the darkness once more
"Omnipotent" starts with the vocals ringing true, not something used to on this album, thus far. The melody is very similar to the album as a whole, they are not changing styles, playing to what they know they can do. This is key because the tempo is high once more and if they were changing styles it would affect the overall balancing.
