Vardis - 100 M.P.H. @ 100 Club album cover

People usually think that the UK just brought Heavy Metal to life with the coming of BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, JUDAS PRIEST and MOTÖRHEAD, and then came NWOBHM, and nothing more existed in the middle. They forget that there were many thing happening, and one name of those days that isn't remembered as it deserves is the trio VARDIS. And here they are, still alive and strong, and releasing this double live album, "100 M.P.H. @ 100 Club".

Recorded at 100 Club (at Oxford Street, London, UK) on March 13th 2020, in the 40th anniversary of their album "100 M.P.H.", here is a live show of a band that mixes Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and Boogie Rock. But for the young fans, the way things are presented can be a bit 'outdated' for the lack of understanding of how things were done on the past, and that some prefer to do things in this way, even today. It's full of an organic and hooking energy, but still rebel and melodically relevant. What are you waiting for? As stated by the band back in the days of "100 M.P.H.", on this live album, it's 'GUARANTEED NO OVERDUBS', because it's sonority is organic, with the whole atmosphere of a live show. By sound of the instrumental tunes one can check this out, and the energy, the feeling and everything can be understood (a live show doesn't mean to be 'smoky').

The strong work of the trio can be felt during all the songs, but specially on songs: Disc 1: "Out of the Way" (a Boggie Rock/Heavy Metal piece, with nasty guitars), "Steaming Along" (a Rock 'n' Roll/Hard Rock energy comes from this one), "Situation Negative (Boogie Blitz)", "Red Eye", "Dirty Money", the savage Rock 'n' Roll called "Don't Mess" (very good vocals), and "Move Along". Disc 2: "Destiny" (what great Hard Rock energy that permeates its melodies), "The Lion's Share", "The Loser" (this one is filled with a massive rhythmic groove on bass guitar and drums), the melodic appeal of "Head of the Nail", "Let's Go Again", and the adrenalized song called "100mph (I Won't Go to Hell)". But these are just a few to begin with. It's great to hear that VARDIS still has such energy on a live show, so listen to "100 M.P.H. @ 100 Club" and enjoy.
