UNREAL is suddenly an incoming new sensation from nowhere, like a spectral apparition or a ghostly vision, the internationally staffed metal project just signs a discography contract with the clever PowerProg Records.

"The Raven" is about to revealing a complex twisted personality with some bombastic Symphonic influences but also some more Metallic colours and in the same time some very unusual instrumentation that recall DAMNATION ANGELS/KAMELOT or KING DIAMOND...The creativity is limitless !

Speaking of the Danish King, the band provide an incredible rendition of "Behind These Walls" from 1990's "The Eye", this track is in perfect coherence with the remaining titles, mixing the thick ambiance of the Gothic Horror movies such as the Roger Corman underground cinema-influenced cut "The Pit And The Pendulum", a gloomy and quirky song, switching from this mood to some eerie component ("The Visitor") and back to the early Symphonic character with "The Assignation"

More than once the Argentinian vocalist known as Cas is sounding like Fabio Lione (RHAPSODY/ANGRA/VISION DIVINE) in his operatic tenor impersonation of Roy Khan (ex CONCEPTION/ ex KAMELOT) in his theatrical best moments, but he also possess another weapon with this more aggressive tone almost Black Metallish ("Those Raven's Eyes").

UNREAL's music style is widely expanded on a vast array of genres with many attributes coming from Gothic/Symphonic/Power Metal or Dark Neo-Classic and a lot of ingredients from the depths of Heavy and Progressive Metal arsenal ("The Horla").

With some rococo tunes which rub with some hard hitting drums in some infused progressive poly-rhythmical section with a remarkable sound design...Their artistic focus seems very motivated by an intellectual behavior more than a pure blast of explosive licks, the vocal brutality is always used to create a gap with the sensitive melodic side, finding the perfect balance between devastating pace of the double kick flurry, enhanced by the headbanging riffage, demented guitar solos and demonic vibes, set together while pushing the boundaries of contemporary Heavy Symphonic music on step further.

The alternative version"The Presence" is showing an unexpected baroque acoustic side with miss Ciminelli as guest lead singer.

Originally, "The Raven" was an Ep, the PowerProg special edition comes with two extra and recently finished songs plus the single edit of "Those Raven's Eyes" and presents this project as a high-class unit with remarkable ideas, an incredible genre-wide musical transformations with some impressive players and most of all the amazing vocal abilities of mastermind Cas...
