Burn The Skies
Unforseen Prophecy

When English UNFORSEEN PROPHECY 2012 released their debut Ep "Without Consequence" I did not think it was something unique in question, at the time I thought they delivered a well mixed bag from the modern metal scene where one noticed the strong influences from bands like early TRIVIUM and MACHINE HEAD etc.
Now, over two years later the band released "Burn The Skies", a creation that basically do not have much new to say. It is well produced and musicians deliver on their instruments while the band's frontman Paul Wells with his bellowing voice manages its task well but sounds like a thousand others in the genre.
It is noticeable that the band with the new album which contains only three tracks are trying to make their music more commercially viable, when the band's female member and rhythm guitarist Charis Pattison commands greater attention with her innocent voice which pulls down the energetic in the band's music greatly then contrast between "Charis" and Paul's vocals blossoms into an unsustainable contrast that which you inspire a sense of something callous and uninspiring.
The band's strongest talent lies in the instrumental. It is well arranged and many moments delivers the guitars really nice and emotive harmonies and it hurts me that the band did not dare to go a different route when it comes to singing section then alternating vocals are becoming increasingly over-exploited concepts which in turn causes UNFORSEEN PROPHECY's music comes across as glaringly unoriginal.
