Underride - One Of Us album cover

Really, this kind of music will apply to most 'now era' Hard Rock loverboys. Not my cup of tea, in particular, but OVERRIDE (Seattle) is amongst the promising unsigned bands - I can imagine - in the Americam market. One Of Us is not their debut album (two CDs and one EP have they issued since 2002) but, any way, OVERRIDE shall give you a good doze of pleasure while listening to their new self-financed CD, critical condition being you would not say 'no' to the inheritance 'new' bands have taken up from notorious US Rock bands like...
...GUNS 'N' ROSES, L.A. GUNS, MOTLEY CRUE, DANZIG (somehow) or AEROSMITH (of course). Alike bands I can bring to mind while listening to One Of Us can as well be VELVET REVOLVER and BUCK CHERRY. To expand: it's obvious this quintet listened to much American Sleaze/Glam Rock prior to founding the band. Still, they have developed their sound to a more current vibe. Current Vibe? Sound, production, mix, vocals, distortions, noise, filth, low-tuned guitars, fuzzy bass (random words come and go!), anger, punk Rock party, 'new' attitude...Hmmm...enough to get the picture?
OVERRIDE have gained - as read - enough of 'onstage' experience, opening for acts like MOTLEY CRUE, Henry Rollins, QUIET RIOT, W.A.S.P., FASTER PUSSYCAT, L.A. GUNS and BULLET BOYS. As regards their 'studio' playing, there's not a grand 'drawback' observed, in my opinion. There's chemistry in the band (how many years have they been playing together, I wonder?) and the songwriting bears a 'pro' tension, rather less of personal development at times but - anyway - more than notable for the familiar ear.
A benefit for the band? They do not copy/paste the past, they do draw influence but also keep in mind today's trends/requirements. A hitch? Same thing goes for many many bands in the North of the American continent, I think. So, it'll also be a matter of timing and/or luck and/or 'link' to grab the chance by the balls. They should not fail, speaking 'bout common sense.
