Uncoffined - Ritual Death And Funeral Rites album cover

The art of Doom Metal often gets overlooked within the Metal community, and it is because of bands like this. For every Doom masterpiece ("Life's Trade" by SAMOTHRACE for example) there are 10 more releases that sound exactly like UNCOFFINED. Lazy, trite, boring, uninspired, slow motion sound.  It takes more than just slowly playing 4 power chords kids.  if you think Doom is supposed to be completely devoid of any high end, any dynamics, any emotion..... Get out of the business and stop thinning the gene pool.

Every song starts off with a sound clip from the same old horror movie. Yawn. Want to use samples?  Cool!  Put some thought into it.  Have the samples mean something. Don't just throw samples in to be creative for you. UNCOFFINED doesn't do anything offensive, but that might be the problem. It is so utterly forgettable.

I will never listen to this again.  As soon as I am done typing this paragraph I won't be returning to this one for sure. Not even scary costumes like what PORTAL wear can save this release.  Go back in the coffin.
