So folks I have the great pleasure of reviewing by far one of my all time favorite bands, the legendary UFO. Through their carrier we have seen the band grow and climb incredible heights in the musical world of both Metal and Hard Rock with various incredible musicians such as the german power house Michael Schenker to speed demon Vinnie Moore, the band has grown more and more by taking from every musician ideas as well as inspiration. So now we come to the bands latest release, "A Conspiracy Of Stars".
So I wanted to start this one off with the albums first track "The Killing Kind". The start of the record and my god it is just pleasing to the ears folks, classic UFO in motion. The track starts with a nice soft guitar tone as well as thunderous drum beats making this into a journey down the road of this record and I need to say that it is refreshing to hear this kind of skill on a record such as this because honestly it shows that these guys are still able to open a record on this kind of note and still keep it rolling. One thing which just amazes me to this day is the vocals on Phill Mogg and how he has been able to keep that smooth yet very tense type of singing style going after all these years. So really what your getting here folks is a classic UFO sound brought to us in the twenty first century and it is just jaw droppingly good.
We now come to the records second track "Run Boy Run". As the track begins we can already tell that this one is going to be a very memorable track just by hearing those classic drum beats mixed with Vinnie's solid guitar lines to begin the tracks chemistry. As with every UFO song there is this distinct tone that makes you click your fingers and stomp your feet to the sound of that Hard Rock beat, this song is no different as it has heart and has soul from the very beginning especially when vocalist Phil Mogg brings that legendary voice of his to the front and readers when I say the man can still bring it I mean it, the mans voice has not aged one day since the day i started as a fan which goes to show this is a timeless legend. The entire song itself is a solid and strong piece of Rock which shows that the old school still have a lot more to show to the new class of musicians.
From what you hear is what you get, a solid powerhouse of classic sounds mixed with incredible skill and in a lot of ways it does bring you back to when you first started listening to this band and why you got into them in the first place.
