‘Why not?’ should be the main driving force behind the creative insight of a band, because there are many stupid people on every sect of Metal underground (labels, press, fans, bands, etc) that scold those who want to play something different. Remember: you don’t have to pay respect for yourself, and if you have a different idea and thinks it’s worth of a try, do it, and blast off what others tell. This seems to be the idea behind “We Are Tzadok”, the ne album of the Mexican quartet TZADOK. The sonority used on the album tries to fit into the ample range of their musical work, and it combines harsh and distorted tunes with a very good level of definition (what means that’s easy to understand what they are playing, so their melodies are clearly understood). And what a great artwork for the cover!

The quartet combines influences from Metalcore, Death Metal, Power Metal, Heavy Metal, Folk Metal and others, with very good melodies (pay attention to the excellent Heavy Metal-orientated guitar duets on “Feel the Blood” to check such aspect, as the excellent orchestrations on “Andromeda”) contrasting with aggressive and distorted parts. Obviously that their music could be compared to acts as CHILDREN OF BODOM, TRIVIUM and others that combines influences from extreme genres with melodic ones, but D-O-N-T think they’re copying anyone, because their music is full of personality and energy, and it’s really great!

Their 8 songs aren’t enough to satisfy the listeners, but a bit on “Redeemer Man”, “We Are Tzadok”, “Feel the Blood”, “Andromeda” (bits of Folk Metal are heard here clearly), “Alone”, “The Miracle”, “The Return” and “Tzevaot”, and you’ll be hooked! It’s extremely hard to resist their musical appeal, to their charming melodies contrasting with rough aggressive parts, and to their creativity, with instrumental parts and vocals’ contrast being at their best. Well, if some North AmeriKKKan people want a wall between them and Mexico, they’ll miss what is heard on “We Are Tzadok”. But idiots/neofascists aren’t the public for TZADOK (or for any other Metal act).
