"Bringer Of Woe", the 12 track twisted journey through the minds of TWISTED TALES is here! TWISTED TALES, a four-piece Thrash / Death Metal band from Serbia have released their second full- length album, "Bringer Of Woe". Formed in 2004 in the small town of Kuršumlija, TWISTED TALES have created a sound all of their own. Despite pulling influence from the Thrash and Death Metal genres, and in a time where just about everything has been done before, they've managed to come up with a style that's truly unique.

Track one, "Snake Eyes" is a clean tone, ominous intro that ushers in the onslaught that is the rest of the album, and onslaught describes it best. The title track, "Bringer of Woe" comes in fast and ferocious, displaying their Thrash Metal elements with no shame. What will really take you by surprise is the Vocals. The Vocal work is not quite a Death Metal growl, nor a Thrashy scream, yet somewhere in between. The Vocals are very different. At first, one might have trouble with them, but I promise you will grow to love them by the end of the album. "Bittersweet Sorrow" comes in like a lion with ripping, thrashing speed and wicked Wah Pedal leads laid over top, then along comes Milovanović Miša showing off his technical prowess with A break neck solo, lighting the strings on fire with his fingertips.

One of my favorite songs on the album is "Father". Maybe it's the nod inspiring groove - like riff setting the tone, the steady, thunderous roll of the Double Bass or the warp speed, unpredictable leads. "Father" is a valiant effort at showcasing their true talent and song writing capabilities. Another track that really grabbed me and shook me like couch cushion in the mouth of an eight month old pit bull is "Slow Down". Opening with smooth Bass line, it's not long before your head gets torn off with ripping fast Thrash riffs and a battery of Drums, then as the name implies, the tempo slows right down with a sonic, heavy tone that could crumble stone.

It's really hard for me convey just how unique of a sound TWISTED TALES has put together for us. I find the words I use don't quite do this album the justice it deserves. The best thing to do would be to check it out and enjoy. There isn't a song on the album that I did not like. TWISTED TALES are a very talented group and "Bringer Of Woe" has something for everyone, whether it be Thrash infected riffs, ripping solos, tight and technical Drums or low hair raising Vocals. This album is very unpredictable and keeps you guessing at every turn. I'm very happy I've been turned onto TWISTED TALES and look forward to more from them in the future.
