Stay Hungry (25th Year Anniversary)

The whole theme of the album was dark and very creative, is written in the inlay booklet of the CD and by listening to the first track of the second disk available, Death From Above, you will understand exactly what is meant. As for the tracks of the original, no need to mention anything additional. Stay Hungry has already its place in Rock history. So, disk number 2 includes tracks that were not included in the original version but also takes like S.M.F and The Price before they got polished by Webman. Actually all these tracks have a rough sound and somehow bring you back to the real meaning of a demo version.
Yes, Stay Hungry, did unleash vice back in 1984 to teenagers under pressure and parents as well. Let's not forget the act of PMRC (Parents Music Resource Centre) which included several bands in its list (VENOM, MOTLEY CRUE and W.A.S.P - Blackie dedicated Harder Faster to this act) for the lyrical content of their songs and Dee Snider had to appear in court to defend his band. Even What's Love Without You that could lead to the thought that it's a ballad, presents anger and honestly this rough demo version makes it sound even better.
The Price has a kinda doomy intro and dirty guitars, great and raw. The new track 30 was planned for the Gone Country show in USA but the band decided to turn it into a Rock song. It has sustained something of the sound roughness and brings the party rock n' roll sound of TWISTED SISTER. It is tracks like these that lead us to the thought of what would TWISTED SISTER be if they didn't have the chance to get that famous but also to give them credit for the fact that although the success of Stay Hungry they did not change, not in the least, the view they had about their music. This second CD, apart from its vigorous tunes, the rough guitars, the bad attitude that escapes from every riff and the dirty feeling, allows us by all odds to have an insight in the core of TWISTED SISTER. And even those that don't agree yet ( I believe they're few but however they exist) through this special edition they will realize what significant position TWISTED SISTER holds in the history of Metal. A definite not to miss. I assume that T.S. fans will have this anniversary version already in their collection.
