On this moment of conflicts throughout the world, all that’s left is to protest against old and senile leaders with their allies, the worshippers of money (don’t be deceived: wars exist because they are linked to profit). You can do it on your social medias as well, and musicians do it with music. And “The Great Satan”- a term used by Ayatollah Khomeini in a speech in November 1979, condemning USA due its duty as a powerful force that promoted corruption and instability throughout the world - the new album of TRIVAX explores the concept in many ways, to show other ‘satans’ on this world.

Greg Chandler did the sound engineering and recordings, while Samuel Turbitt did the mixing and mastering, creating an aggressive and brutal sonority, but that’s defined in a way that it’s easy to hear and absorb all that’s offered by the band’s music. And what a great artwork of Néstor Ávalos (cover art) and Silere Omnia (artwork). As guest, here is Vickie Harley doing the operatic vocals on “The Great Satan”, “Ya Saheb Az Zaman” and “Operation Ramadan”. The band can be said as a Black/Death Metal/Blackened Death Metal act filled with Ethnic Metal elements from Middle East in many moments (as heard clearly on “Lawless Eternal…”), and with excellent rhythmic contrasts and different elements. It’s a different outfit from the usual on Death Metal - remembering that the band, now home-based on Birmingham (UK); but originally from Tehran (Iran) - and it bears some eerie melodic touches as well (that can be heard on “To Liberation and Beyond”). It can be said that their music is inspired, catchy, different and full of energy and personality. It’s really great!

By the way, there are moments with lyrics on Arabic language that deserves to be translated! “Atash”, “To Liberation and Beyond”, “Lawless Eternal…”, “Here Comes the Flood”, “The Great Satan”, “Daemon’s Melancholia”, “Ya Saheb Az Zaman”, “Operation Ramadan” (that tells a sad tale about how the greed for power of leaders kill innocent people) and “Tamam Shod” are songs with charming contrasts between Death/Black Metal/Blackened Death Metal and ethnic elements from Middle East, with brutality and aggressiveness done with careful instrumental arrangements, with death growls and opera vocals entangling to create the right atmospheric feelings. It’s a precious jewel, indeed.
