Voodoo Moonshine

TREPALIUM is a band with some very weird combination of Groove Metal, Death Metal and Progressive, something that on paper can be sound like LAMB OF GOD (but it doesn't).
The band formed in 2001 in Poitou-Charentes, and known as one of the best and the one of the most unique French Metal bands. After almost 14 years as a band, the band released their new EP. The opening song, "Moonshine Limbo", is a dark and heavy song that leaves no prisoners. With some amazing performances, the band creates a very fun song that is easy to become addicted to.
"Damballa's Voodoo Doll" keeps the party going, another fun song. TREPALIUM has a big experiment in Metal and the band knows what the fans want in concerts. So the songs of the band in this album are absolutely turning to the concert's crowd and the craziness that will be in their shows. Maybe it's because I am a really big fan of Groove Metal, but "Guédé Juice" is the best in the album in my opinion. It's a strong song that shows no mercy on the listener and really reminds me some of PANTERA heaviest hits.
A very good hit, and again the song were written for energetic concerts.
"Fire on Skin" is the heaviest song so far and it's an absolutely amazing song. The band shows some very impressive skills as performers with a fast rhythm, strong vocals and one masterpiece of guitar solo. The last song in the album is a very innocent song called "Blowjob on the Rocks" (please play it for the whole family). It could be another masterpiece but the song's problem is that it's essentially just an instrumental, and isn't interesting enough, musically, to grab one's attention. The band could give more vocals parts but they haven't and its make it work less well as a song.
Basically it's an album that shows that the band really became much more mature and how much they have improved. TREPALIUM know what crowd wants and they give it to them. They have a large pool of creativity and they are not afraid to use it. It's an album that would be perfect in a live setting.
