Tranquil Terror

Hailing from Bristow, Virginia USA Tranquil Terror promises to deliver old school thrash and that they do in spades with a bit of old school BLACK SABBATH thrown in for flavor and maybe a bit of blood.
The album opens up with the sounds of war only to be joined in loudly by the band on "Fire At Will" which is a song about war and the battle fields within. The band is solid in its attack, it jumps out at you that this is how Heavy Metal was before the growls, and screams replaced using ones voice as a front man. Sweet stuff in this writer's ear. Definite hints of SLAYER come to mind.
"Destined To Bleed" begins with some low-end bass intro and is joined in by guitar riff work and drums that reminded me of early OZZY era BLACK SABBATH. Whatever they may remind you of, these guys sing about pain, death, blood and all the fixings of Heavy Metal power of old.
The third track "Bringer of Pain" is a melodic twist on heavy duty Metal and opens with some nice pick work by guitarist Doug Souther before the band kicks in with the heavy artillery; it is a thrash ballad for lack of a better term.
The album is what they say they are, old school Thrash although I would side with old school Heavy, Power Metal yes. It is a worthy listen and a worthy effort by the band, I look forward to catching them live sometime and hearing them grow.
