From the first second I pressed the play button, and for twelve minutes, I swear that I felt that the room was a bigger phone booth like the one in Doctor Who (does anybody remember this TV series?) and went back in time, in the mid 80's.

TOXIK SOCIETY, originating from Oviedo, Spain, was born in 2008. During their short history the have released one self-titled demo that, as they wrote in their MySpace page, is unavailable, and a full-length album under the title Living Thrashers. Here we are dealing with a demo release that has three songs from their full length with better sound. During this year they managed to change their bass player...twice! Hopefully they don't have the SPINAL TAP syndrome.

As for those three songs...Well, first of all you ought to have big balls to play this kind of Thrash in 2009. New age stuff, hardcore, anything new is prohibited. Here you will find only 80's pure fucking Thrash Metal! Even though it is a sacrilege, it reminded me of Kill ‘Em All (what do you mean by who?)! The problem is that they don't filter their influences at all. After the second time, I was like: This reminds me of NUCLEAR ASSAULT. Oh this is DARK ANGEL definitely! And this cut is copy-paste from Alice In Hell.... And so it goes on. I know that you can't play something that has never been heard before when you play this kind of music, but you can at least filter the things you got from your favorite bands.

Living Kufeso is not bad. And I believe that their full-length would be a good buy for an 80's Thrash Metal fan. But they have to start finding their own sound. A good try from TOXIK SOCIETY and hopefully we will have news from them in the future. As for the rate: If you listen just the music and don't care about copying, than a 7 would be acceptable. But if you start thinking that most parts look alike older bands, you should put a 4. so I'll put the, almost, average rate.

P.S.: It would be great to see them live with a beer in hand.
