The Norwegian band TOMORROWS OUTLOOK is a project that started to record in 2007. "34613" does stand for EAGLE in an alternative alphabet for the English language, but "34613" is also the name of the debut album that Tomorrows Outlook recently released through Battlegod Productions. A Metal album with a huge blink to the 80's and 90's Metal.
TOMORROWS OUTLOOK is a project that includes a lot of musicians and some of them have been around quite a while. Still that does not per definition makes "34613" a great album even though the odds are bigger that the album won't be totally crap either. Guess that one of the downsides of some projects is that most of the time all the musicians are great, but somehow miss the experience of playing together as a team, together as one. Which can make the music they're playing sound more faint, from a distance, than one could expect from a band playing the Metal genre.
"34613" from TOMORROWS OUTLOOK contains a mix of songs that are jumping out and fading away. Some of the songs were really catchy and some almost gave me a headache, while other songs were steady as a rock just like some of the songs sounded just weak. But then again, all is in the ear of the listener. This listener did hear experienced and skilled musicians and vocalists with the capability to create a masterpiece, but without the ability to do so yet with their debut album "34613", even though I did find some masterpieces songs on this album.
Rating this albumwas very difficult, since my personal rating for the individual songs on "34613" would vary from 5/10 till 10/10 and in between. So adding and dividing brought an average of 7.5/10 and since we don't do in half points I did end up rating this album as excellent despite the fact that I didn't experience all songs that way. On the other hand... I did truly enjoy the masterpieces songs in between on this debut album by TOMORROWS OUTLOOK.
