This is the second album from THYRUZ. To tell you the truth, I didn't know this band at all. And how could I, since the Black Metal bands from Scandinavia are coming out like mushrooms? And the bad thing is that quantity, most of the times, is an inverse proportion of quality. So is THYRUZ a band that lack quality? Even though they were formed in 1999, their first full length album, "Northern Blasphemy", was out in 2007.

To cut a long story (report) short, let's move to the music itself. THYRUZ's style is not bad. Their typical Norwegian Black Metal is not dire, some nice riffing can be heard, the atmosphere is there...but there is surely something missing. And I think this is continuity. The songs lack structure and the atmospheric parts do sound a bit...how should I say it...(sorry, but I can't find another word)...childish. Some changes in the rhythm section could have been better if the breaks were different. The good moments unfortunately, are getting lost inside this foggy album.

THYRUZ in "Northern Blasphemy" are trying hard, but the result is not the expected one. A fuzzy album with some good riffs, but boring and with lack of cohesion. Sometimes it is not good to overwork on an album... they should have stuck to the old-school Back Metal.
