Thy Darkened Shade - Liber Lvcifer II: Mahapralaya album cover

The Greek band THY DARKENED SHADE arrives at their third full-length-album entitled "Liber Lvcifer II: Mahapralaya" founded in 1999 the band goes beyond two decades of existence, and after "Eternvs Mos, Nex Ritvs" (2012) and "Liber Lvcifer I: Khem Sedjet" (2014) went through a hiatus of almost ten years until returning in 2023 to demonstrate its newest project.  The label responsible for the release is World Terror Committee Productions, which is based in Germany, has almost the same age as the band and keeps the focus on Black Metal-style bands releases. Regarding the production, the album has a very sinister and dark cover, managing to convey the message to those who are interested, the mixing and mastering sound very good to me.

In all are nine songs to start with "Luciftias" which is shorter of all, I confess I was surprised, it seems one with a full song more is more for an introduction because it is quite different from all the rest of the album, its slower rhythm counting with lots of ambiance instruments, monk voices and enough harmony in a climate of ode and ecstasy print the tone here. "Sacrosanct Pyre" is the one that really makes room for what is expected to be closer to Black Metal, although variations in its path the music demonstrates brutality and a good diversity in vocals, brings alternative to music that because of being long, those elements bring freshness every time they change.

"Sathanastasis" the longest track of the album demonstrates how far Semjaza can go in the deep with his music, u can feel the atmosphere of terror here, with passages ranging from gelding to burns from true hell, that's the real masterpiece of all the work. As it could not be different, the perception of veneration for Satan is always visible and can practically be felt on the skin.  With a beautiful bass introduction, "Qelippot Epiphany" has a slower pace, but does not give up its heaviness in any time. This track looks more like a narrative, highlighting the bass and drum work. "Noxious Witchery of the Titans" is certainly the most brutal of the entire album except for a brief break of about a minute, more to the end of the song, but quickly returns to the intense rhythm, having its ending practically as an introduction to the latest song "Typhonian Temple" that brings quite melancholy and just as the first track differs from the rest in a farewell vibe of this exceptional work.
