Violent Vacation
THRAXAS!

Was formed in Sydney, Australia by guitarist and vocalist Bull Woods in 2012. They did make their name playing regularly throughout Sydney’s live scene. The genre is thrash metal, groove metal. Their second EP “Planetary Terrorism”, was released in 2021. Since then, the quartet has toured relentless Thrashfest (VIC), Shredfest (QLD), Hornography (WA), the Steel Assassins and Bangers & Thrash festivals (NSW) and support slots to Dave Ellefson’s Kings of Thrash, Spanish thrashers Angelus Apatrida and Canadian melodic metallers Unleash the Archers.
I did check YouTube, you know just jumping, around between different videos, when suddenly THRAXAS! Did come up. Thrash metal old school, heavy and technical and not what you expect. I did listen to the video 3 times, and thought, I must write and ask a little about this band. And I did not expect any so answer quick. The track is from the upcoming album Violent Vacation. The first full-length from this band release date: April 11th.
"Blast Shadows" is the first track on the album. And also the official video track. It's so well done, has Testament, Exodus influences. But I do also hear fragments from the Teutonic thrash, Kreator, Tankard. And no, THRAXAS! Is not a rip-off band. They have their own style, are really tight, and did check around, what the opinion was about them live. And they are known to deliver. The lyrics are about H.P. Lovecraft, Science fiction, Fantasy. They send me the track in WAV, and the bass guitar has a lot of space, really give a groove, the drums are clear, and lays a great foundation. The guitars are so tight, and the voice from Bull Woods, is nasty and raw. But back to the bass, Dan Andrews is something extra. But Instead for read what I write, jump to the video, check them up ....we talk high quality thrash. And I'm pretty sure that full album review will come, as soon as possible. And the rating, based upon one track is really hard...so see it more as an reference.
