Where The Dragons Lie

"Where the Dragon Lies" is the first opus from Spanish power metal band THIRD DIM3NSION. From their EP from 2011, I came to notice several improvements in terms of sound quality and arrangements, giving us an optimal result with many expectations to see where is this going, what direction will it take. "Ray Of Light" the first track of the album gives an incredible introduction to the band, and what it can do. It has incredible strength and power being a power metal pioneer of the album. In "Tree Of Life" we hear some complexity coming from the guitars, speedy riffs, and an incredible performance at vocals from lead singer Miguel. "Insane" gives us a great bass treat with Jose's solo. "Darkest Paradise" and "I Am The Gun" are more of a roller coaster, with ups and downs, slow and heavy parts.
The impression THIRD DIM3NSION left me with is that they are a band with potential. Their first album is definitely a good one in terms of composition and technique, although it doesn't say much artistically. The songs are catchy, but I don't have a strong desire to go buy the album and to listen to them over and over again. It needs a certain spark to be a breakthrough effort.
