12 years since the last release from THINE - "In Therapy", the band are back with their latest release "The Dead City Blueprint". THINE didn't choose to take so long to release so far apart because they wanted a bit of a break, they wanted to make sure that with this release, everything was beyond even their expectations.

Each track has its own meaning behind it, full of melancholy and heartache, it is strangely relaxing, atmospheric and beautiful in a dark sense.

Prog influenced Rock/Metal is always 50/50 in my eyes to the Metal community. It's a marmite thing, you either hate it or you absolutely worship it, however, as someone who is on the first option - I will admit that THINE are one that is making me sit here going "What the fuck? I like a Prog album" and I reckon that it'll make other non-takers to the genre do the exact same thing.

It's probably because THINE aren't so in your face with it as bands such as TOOL, PORCUPINE TREE and DREAM THEATER - sometimes all the "Let's see how many times we can change timing" "Let me see if I can play a 20 stringed guitar in Drop Z#" "Let me see if I can make my drum-kit bigger than Old Mother Hubbard's pot collection" gets a bit tiresome and it's just that little bit better to have it stripped down and played with feeling again.

Title-track "The Dead City Blueprint" and closing track "Scars from Limbo" are the two ballads of the album, whilst, the rest of the album is played with beauty, these two in particular are stunning.
"Scars from Limbo" especially is chilling, filled with sadness, yet, touching. If a song makes you feel something, if it makes you happy, sad, angry, if it makes you think back about something that's happened/happening in your life and it touches you to a point you can allow these emotions to escape you healthily and it connects you during the time the song is playing to the real you (we all have that front) then that is a song that is pure perfection, it is a song that holds what music is all about, helping you through life, giving you that helping hand - "Scars from Limbo" does just that and as the last track, it's beautifully placed on the album to leave you craving for more.

At first, I wasn't looking forward to listening to THINE, as a reviewer it's my job to open my mind but it doesn't mean I can't have some genres that really tickle my pickle - I thought "Another Prog band that will throw in what they can and will leave me just as emotionless as I was before I started to listen", I will throw my hands in the air and admit that I was very wrong.

THINE haven't captured anything but pure beauty and the importance of letting yourself explore who you really are and that is truly magical.
