These Streets - Unfinished Business album cover

Labels play an important role in letting an artist make a name for themselves and gain some exposure for their work. Yet people often forget about record label behind whilst analysing an album. However, I find that record labels are a key to finding newer bands and albums. One among the labels I follow is BDHW Rec. The label itself had some killer albums this year - such as NASTY's "Realigion" and LIONHEART's upcoming album (to be released in November). Among these major releases, THESE STREETS, a new and upcoming Californian Hardcore band released their best effort "Unfinished Business" earlier this year.

The opening track title track "Unfinished Business" - kick starts the album with a heavy and downtuned Breakdown paired with Rap style vocals similar to majority of Hardcore bands. Given that most of the tracks are than 2 minutes long, the album progresses quicker than expected. The third and adrenaline pumping track, "Bite The Hand", is probably my pick for the best track, as the song itself has a lot of different elements, ranging from a short-lived guitar solo to a versatile vocal style; this song is enough to represent the album as a whole.

The album gets heavier and the breakdowns get nastier as it proceeds; and the sixth track "Can't Be Saved" reflects the foretold statement. "I'm my own worst enemy"  are the opening words that pave way for the unrelenting Instrumentation. The cocals are executed perfectly and I can feel every bit of energy from the vocalist Cameron. My favourite part is the double bass kicks towards the end of this track that seems as if a shotgun is being blasted. "No Way Out" starts off slowly but builds up the pace with a thunderous explosion on drums followed by thick and fiery guitar riff. As I have previously mentioned, Cameron has done a perfect job on the vocals as they are deliverd perfectly and remain versatile on each track. The final two tracks, "Trapped" and "Life From the Gutter" closes the album perfectly leaving the listeners anxious for their future releases.

Altogether, this is yet another success for the band and BDHW Rec. With a well crafted track-list such as this, one might find it hard to stop listening to the tracks and breakdowns. I do find some tracks repetitive, but these are few and the rest of the track-list features versatile elements. Overall, "Unfinished Business" is an incredible album to quench the thirst of all the Hardcore addicts until the new LIONHEART album drops.
