The Wounded Kings - Consolamentum album cover

Formed in 2005 THE WOUNDED KINGS have released three albums so far with their fourth set to be released in February.

Titled "Consolamentum", this is a Doom record with a very dark atmosphere helped in part by the slow riffs and ever present bass, think the very first BLACK SABBATH record, especially the song that started all, and you will have an idea of what this record is all about, however do not think THE WOUNDED KINGS are merely copycats for they have their own unique sound due in most part to the vocals of Sharie Neyland, her vocals have a certain lamenting quality to it that fit perfectly in the atmosphere created by the instruments.

However this album is not for everybody, to fans of Doom Metal this album is a must listen, but to people that are not very fond of this genre or are not too familiar with it I don't recommend it since the long slow songs can be a bit of a bore if you are not used to it.
