The Troops Of Doom - Antichrist Reborn album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: THE TROOPS OF DOOM; signed via Alma Mate Records, hailing from Brazilian grounds - performing Death/Thrash Metal, on their debut full-length album entitled: "Antichrist Reborn" (released April 15th, 2022). Since formation in 2020; the quartet in question have 7 singles, 2 EPs entitled: "The Rise Of Heresy" (released October 9th, 2020), "The Absense Of Light" (released August 8th, 2021) & this here debut full-length album in their discography so far entitled: "Antichrist Reborn". 12 tracks ranging at around 43:08; THE TROOPS OF DOOM arrange an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Death/Thrash Metal developments. Intriguingly named through the SEPULTURA staple "Troops of Doom"; this foursome delivers an extreme dose of malicious mayhem for all thrashing maniacs to enjoy.

Opening up with this fiery but ritualistic shroud; this bulldozing bludgeoning of monstrously meaty stomps, shredding speed and amplified adrenaline belts a boisterously bouncy punch of gnarly but groove-laden segregation within "Dethroned Messiah". Nothing but blistering hooks fiercely shreds with wildly rushing tonality amongst a towering snare of scouring revs that soar with rampantly rompy blitzkrieg, as grinding rips sulfurously revel with rapidly nimble malice & blistering contortion that will make one want to break chairs over other chairs in no time. Consisting drummer Alexandre Oliveira belts a brutal smack of slamming yet rambunctious piledriving that thuds out with sturdy weight, while volatile rumbles reverberate with slaying & motoring slabs of solid remedy that makes me headbang immediately with this addictive crunch. As "Far From Your God" distorts a galloping chug in extreme frenzies, barraging speakers stridently with thudding sturdiness that thumps out with sonically seamless retribution and concretely steely precision.

This alarming density demonstrates a deathly boundary where this borderline foundation on monolithic tempo manifests with steamrolling thunder, while trailblazing firepower expertise rift with momentous yet primitive tightness on raw pandemonium & organic substance as dexterously dynamic intensity from audible bassist Alex Kafer flickers his axe with revving calamity as we march on to "Alter Of Delusion". A brief, yet orchestral intrude gives one this slight breather as we unearth "Grief". Until more chaotic havoc within "Pray Into The Abyss" soars with raspy throatiness, grunty gutturals and shouty yells that bark arthritically and mightily. This is where twinning virtuosity from guitar duo Marcelo Vasco & Jairo "Tormentor" Guedz (ex SEPULTURA guitarist from the "Bestial Devastation"/"Morbid Visions" era) showcase their maelstrom swerve of caveman but crab-like-walk versatility, vehemently utilising razor-sharp bellows and relentless yet volatile tonality - profusely & robustly.

"The Rebellion" revolts with more ruthless yet slabby solidity, making use of their vibrantly potent methods on radically wicked but berserking flexibilities in fundamental bestiality. Distilling a chiselling momentum on motoring retribution that injects an infectiously venomous maelstrom tactic on diabolical hysteria. While "Deserters From Paradise" thrills souls with magnetising stability, synergising on strifing roughness & ugly thickness (of the good kind of course). Bombarding bodies into a bone-crushing whirlwind of oppressive barbarity, another interval gives one this slight respite within "Apocalypse MMXXII". Until a bombing tread within the penultimate rager "A Queda" rampages with drum crymbal trembles & more wildly rushing intensities, as an immersive crescendo effect impulses with towering tremolo viscerality to boot.

Overall concluding "Antichrist Reborn" with the finale epic "Preacher's Paradox"; I am compelled to say that THE TROOPS OF DOOM most surely outdone themselves with this one, keeping the Death/Thrash Metal subgenres alive and well, this spin surely makes this one worthy of replaying and listening to - where fans of these will definitely enjoy, I'll be keeping an eye out on these guys for sure - do check it out... masterclass material right here.
