Generation Me
The Treatment
What's up, Metal maniacs? I'm here once again to give you an insight into this British Hard Rock quintet known as THE TREATMENT, signed to Spinefarm Records.
What we have here is a band that implements everything in the Rock/Metal genre into one neat package. With only two albums behind them: "This Might Hurt" and "Running With The Dogs", fast forward to 2016, THE TREATMENT release "Generation Me". Going in with low expectations, I was very surprised with what I heard. We have Tagore Grey on guitar along with Tao Grey. Both pump out some unique riffs, which provided me with an enjoyable listen...and with the added powerhouse of Dhani Mansworth on drums and Rick Newman "Swoggle" on bass, I am jamming to a super group who make real Hard Rock music in their own unique way. And let's not forget about Mitchel Emms on vocals, who has a typical clean range, though not much else to it. Overall...from what I heard, this is a very talented super group who has 12 epic songs in this new release.
"Let It Begin" starts off the album in typical hard rock fashion. While nothing feels original or different from what we may have already heard before with other artists, in their own unique way, this is a band that vows to enjoy themselves with very catchy lyrics and riffs; it's quite evident that this is a band for everyone. Rhythm unprecedented and just a blast of a time in their musicianship; the instrumentation will leave you wanting more because of how enjoyable "Generation Me" really is. Other heavy-hitters like "The Devil", "Tell Us The Truth" and the titular track "Generation Me" have an abundant amount of quality and 100% enjoyment. I have to once more mention the vocal range of Mitchel Emms', whose performances only gets better with every track and make for a nice sing-along. And the riffage just explodes in a furious embodiment of power.
While this is a band that is not typically on the extreme Metal spectrum, they are still a very worthwhile listen. Critics will heavily approach them on this and use that to their advantage but as an open-minded critic, I can tell you that there is nothing really bad about this record. The songwriting is mediocre at best, but it's a highly memorable venture with top-notch sound production and musicians that really know what they are doing to kick your arse.
With that all said and done, if you love your music with a hard kick and an utterly powerful mix of jams and punchlines; you'll most certainly love "Generation Me" for what it is. Take it with a grain of salt, turn it up to over 9000 and enjoy some massive tracks of pure power and skill.
