From Nowhere To No One
The Seed

THE SEED, huh? Surely not a name indicative of a band's music. These guys could play anything with such name. And the fact that they come from Spain, a country that doesn't have a huge Metal scene, makes it even harder. No info means a lot of research, so here we go...
Hmmm, the album starts pretty good I must admit! A groovy Thrash attack is exactly what I needed to make my day, but what's next? The album seems to continue with a similar pace. A PANTERA influenced (heavily influenced) Thrash Metal with some more "modern" touches that reminded me of FEAR FACTORY, WHITE ZOMBIE, PRONG etc. The vocals need some extra work, but they are not bad, they are just ok for this kind of music, while the most impressive thing in "From Nowhere To No One" is the guitar work. The riffs are really good and the song structures have been through a lot of work since the band knows when it is time for an outbreak or a "Sabbathic" mid tempo groovy part. What really doesn't help the band is the sound, which is really weak and filthy. The band could just retain the heaviness of this sound and just clean it up a bit.
Thumbs of for "Dead Seed" which is surely one of the highlights of this album and is a bright example of the band's influences. PANTERA meets FEAR FACTORY at its best! The album also features two guest appearances with Dave Rotten from AVULSED kicking it off in "Antihuman Brigade" with his deadly growls (without wanting to reduce the importance of BAPHOMET's David Lopez of course).
All in all a more than decent album and a pretty talented band that with a few minor improvements will be attracting the attention of many metalheads worldwide.
