Formed at the core by Linnéa Olsson on guitars and Johanna Sadonis on vocals, THE OATH is a German Doom Metal band formed in 2012 named after MERCYFUL FATE's Don't Break the Oath. Coming together by a passion for Heavy Metal they were heavy influenced by DANZIG, MOTÖRHEAD, BLACK SABBATH, CELTIC FROST and the NWOBHM bands, and it shows, this band is a perfect mixture of all these bands.

For a debut album this is a pretty good record and it shows a very competent outfit, however it has some flaws in special in regards to its production that makes the songs sound quite weak sometimes, but nothing that ruins the experience, because, aside from that, this is a great record.

For fans of dark Heavy Metal along the lines of MERCYFUL FATE this is a highly recommended record and a band worth checking out.
