THE HUDSON MURDER are a New York based Melodic Death Metal band, who in two thousand and twelve, released their first EP entitled "Dark Compulsions"; since then the band have been working on their first full length release, and now in Two thousand and Fifteen, have released the monster that is "Nemesis". What we can expect from this record is a surprise around every corner, as we see just what this band can do with what they've got, and honestly, it is something to look forward to folks.
From the start, this record already shows high expectations to be shown, as we are welcomed by the melodic and beautiful guitar work of guitarists Marcus Hewig and Julian Barahona for the records first track, "What the Moon Brings".
The structure shown on this track already gives us an idea as to what to expect from the record and from the band is as a whole. The band have a great and solid sound, which really builds as you continue to listen to it and gives us some idea to what we could expect them to be like as a live band, which really makes me curious to be very honest, even still we get this idea that the band are fusing different things into the structure of this record, as seen on the track "Wolf's Blood", which holds a very old school IN FLAMES type style which can be found in vocalist Dan Kelly. Dan's vocals show us what type of range he is able to bring in terms of height and strength, which for a vocalist of his nature, is very impressive and shows us just what he is capable of when given material to sing on, as well as his creative structure, which blooms quite well along this song and the track "Anathema", where we are able to see him go deeper, in terms of his tone and aggression.
It is easy to see the band bring something for each member within the band, which gives us different colors and volume to what we can expect from future material and this is what really excites me, as it leaves us with a temporary cliff hanger after we have finished this record, as it does in so many ways, leaves us wanting to see more of this band and what they are able to bring.
It is rare to see a band with this much creativity, and honestly, it is incredible to listen to; it is easy to see that whatever the future holds for this band it is a future with high expectations in store for future fans to experience.<
