Tankard

One of Germany's, and presumably the whole world's, coolest and most entertaining Thrash Metal-acts are here again with their beer-soaked riffs, alcohol-drenched lyrics and gang-chanted choruses once more. TANKARD is one of the most durable bands on the German Thrash-scene right now and has been around for over 25 years and has released more albums then I can count to. The band have always manage to keep a high standard through the entire career and the only thing that separates their debut "Zombie Attack" (1986) from today is that the production sound better today and that without abandon the dirty and raw riffs.
Once again these German Thrash-maniacs hits us with an album filled to the verge with catchy riffs, easy to remember choruses and true-to-the-bone Metal! I truly love these guys and hold them as one of the best in the genre of European Thrash Metal. But on this new album, titled "Vol(l)ume 14", they doesn't deliver like I have been used to. Sure I find the album really enjoyable with tracks like "Time Warp", "Rules For Fools", "Black Plague (BP)", and "Brain Piercing Öf Death" but I miss a real sledgehammer, a track that will stick with me for weeks after only one listening.
What more to say? To review an album by TANKARD is like trying to review an album by MOTÖRHEAD. You always knows what it will sound like, it's always a good album and you could almost copy you review on the album before because they tend to look the same in the end anyway. So all I can do is to open another beer, sing-a-long and once again establish TANKARD as one of my all time favourite Thrash bands.
