TANK is an English band that formed way back in 1980, but they have not been active all these years. They brought out 2 albums in 1982, 1 album in 1983, 1 in 1984 and 1 in 1987, after that it's quiet till 2002 where another album was released. After that another silent period for 8 years since in 2010 they brought another album. Arrived in 2012 they've released their 8th album called "War Nation" through Metal Mind Productions, a relaxed sounding rocking Heavy Metal album despite the war theme.
TANK had quite some member shifts over the years, but that they still have roots going all the way back to 1980 is clearly to hear on this album. Still the album "War Nation" does not sound old or out of date. They somehow did manage to find a fresh breeze that's strong enough to face the modern nowadays music, without losing their sound of a tank that's rolling through the war zones inside a "War Nation". Steady and filled with metal power ready to hit the targets their aiming for.
Did love the vocal work of Doogie White right fromthe first spin. His voice has a somewhat old school sound that was able to get to me right away, touching my own metal roots all the way back, but also love the rocking guitar work on this album that's giving this album "War Nation" a timeless Metal sound supported by the moving on bass and drum work.
The album "War Nation" turned out to be a great listen also because it feels like the members are having a great time together inside a chemistry that contains inspiration and the energy to move on no matter what's in front of us. Every song has its own strength of movement and being catchy at the same time. TANK did a great job with "War Nation". This Metal head is happy again. This album made me sit back, relax and enjoy the ride with TANK.
