Talisman - The World's Best Kept Secret album cover

Well, maybe not the best kept secret after all. Talisman could have claimed this title five or six years ago when I (and I guess most of you fans of Melodic Rock) had to buy their albums from Japan (curse the European distribution) and pay their weight in gold! Since their re-releases and their collaboration with mighty poser label Frontiers (Hail!) in Italy even my mother managed to get to know these guys.
Anyway, this is the band's first DVD release and I can't say anything else than that it's an eye candy for the fans. Are you ready for a bit of a Melodic Rock overdose? Here we go... the first DVD includes two live shows. A show at Club Mondo (in Stockholm, Sweden - August 2003) and the band's performance at Sweden Rock Festival (Solvesborg, Sweden - June 2003). Though the two shows are close regarding their dates and the fact that the basic bone-structure of songs is the same, there are several differences between the two setlists, allowing the fan to listen to as much live songs as possible from the band's history. Talisman on stage seem to be a little loose and chill out performers, however their abilities are eye-popping on stage. As an additional bonus there are three live songs with the ability of multi angle (cool).
The second DVD includes a biography (based on videos) of the band where the fans get to see how good looking Soto is through the years (oh yeah - hahaha). The fact that half the videos are taken from live shows isn't a bad thing, if you haven't had enough of live performances from the first disc! Out of that there are also some small bonus features on this disc as well, such as a guitar-shredding clip and stuff like that.
As a package The World's Best Kept Secret is a great way to learn about this cool band. It is a must have for the fans of the band and a really cool addition to the collection of every rocker out there.
