T-Machines - Doomed album cover

T-MACHINES hails from Colombia. It`s a Thrash Metal side-project of Juancho Gomez, guitar player of Colombian Metal band MASACRE.

The album "Doomed" comes with only 4 tracks, regular length, so the whole album is all in all around 13 minutes long. The tracks are engineered and produced by Juancho Gomez who also done mastering on this album that was recorded in LA at Lockout Rehearsal studios. The vocals on this short but effective release belong to Fabio Nicholls Travecedo in "Huerfanos Si Tierra", Alvaro Alvarez that has done some... well not sure how to call that style of "singing", but you can count is as growls, I guess in "Paz Igualdad" and Cesar Botero who gave life to the lyrics of "Doomed" and "One Life".

The album more pulls to the Death core than Thrash side, but sure has enough of diversity on it. It takes a while to get used to the thundery sound of drums and bass with guitars that are most definitely one of the highlights of the album. The songs are fast, aggressive and quite brutal. No time for pause, it`s pure energy from the beginning to the end.

At first listening, you get the feeling that everything is just pure noise. It takes one or two listening more to get all the sounds sorted, and to separate the vocals from the musical background. Just then, you get to hear what this album is offering, which is too many things in four short songs. They are over packed with energy that just simply burn themselves out before they get to you.

The album would be much better, if the songs were just a bit longer, so the energy would have time to grow and expand. Overall it`s not bad, but it`s not so good ether. It`s one of those "fans only" releases, that may have enough background of the previous works of the musicians involved, and may have the deeper meaning to them. Otherwise, you can pass on this.
