Hard hitting in your face death screams with cutting edge atrocity is your cup of metal then look no further for Michigan's own SUNLIGHTS BANE slap the living tarnation out of you with their latest The Blackest Volume via Innerstrength Records. Upon listening one might describe the record as high testosterone induced metal music with whipping bass, hyper powered guitars to brutal driven drumming along with hades inspired singing not bad for band of this caliber. These gents have some killer grooves that deliver but through their elusive nature of who the band is might be an investigative mystery for new fans and writers such as myself, but nonetheless they belt out some strong tunes. Take song "The Blessed Ivory Tongue" bestows sickness itself with its ear shattering guitar chords and angry fused singing that makes one want to mosh into the pits of hell itself. Such savager at it's best SUNLIGHTS BANE reaches into the crevices of the soul only to shatter what remnants of good there is just to turn it inside out.
Through The Blackest Volume can be harsh to some that are seeking a band that is hardcore but this group has a twist of death metal to it this band can cater to both worlds. Lyrically speaking it is hard to make out what is being conveyed but through the music one can easily predict something dark, evil about life or death or something closely related to that vein. Giving an introduction to the bands musical hatred is song "Came No Dawn" which starts off chaotically then slows down the melodic tempo a tad keeping a steady rhythm with melodic bass and guitar that slowly speeds up the music demon. Belting out those vicious demons the singer really does an expressive job showing the harsh feeling within that song.
SUNLIGHTS BANE basically is not for the faint music hearted for they slit the poser throat that pretends to like them or someone that is trying to be a metal head. Their music reaches within the realms of extreme grind core metal music is what I would define them but to others they just might say hell bent music. Regardless of the labels the band is sure to raise hell wherever they go.
