A Place Apart
Suffering In Solitude

SUFFERING IN SOLITUDE released their debut album on the very last moment of 2013 entitled "A Place Apart" via Domestic Genocide Records. This California-based band is a project by Christopher A. and they dubbed themselves as "an experimental band". I would agree on the self-label "Post Black Metal", since we can clearly hear a nice blend of atmospheric and experimental Post Metal elements with depressive Black Metal.
This record is roughly twenty eight minutes long, making it quite more digestible and pleasing. The material is not outstanding or brilliant per se, but it's definitely not something that you would not regret listening to. It will either impress you if you're really into this stuff or it will leave you indifferent. At some point it might sound like an unintelligible cacophony then it grows out of it into a more depressively-beautiful ground.
This album is something I might recommend for those seeking some underground Black Metal. It's a good record for a first step by SUFFERING IN SOLITUDE.
