Human Hater

I first got to know STONEMAN when I came across their video clip for the "hit song" "Devil In A Gucci Dress" a couple of years back. The band claims that the music it plays is something between Gothic and Black Metal. Allow me to disagree with the guys from STONEMAN...
Born in Switzerland, this quartet has already released a couple of full-length albums before this one. "Human Hater", who supposedly is a Gothic/Black Metal album as mentioned above, is actually an Industrial Metal record with some Goth touches. To be more precise, STONEMAN sounds pretty close to DEATHSTARS (yeah, this could be a substitute for fans of the band) with some MOONSPELL on top. The album carries some nice groovy moments with heavy, industrialized riffs, deep vocals, as well as some pleasant growls here and there. The fact is that the band hasn't found its own identity, with many songs sounding pretty similar to well known acts. The fact is that "Human Hater" is an album that fans of this music can listen to without getting bored from the beginning until the end.
It is definitely modern, catchy and commercial and if someone has listened to DEATHSTARS so many times that he got sick of them, then STONEMAN is his second best choice.
