In essence of Stoner / Hard Hock the band STEAK features their newest full-length album entitled "No God To Save" through the label Ripple Music. Regarding the band's first album released through Napalm Records, there were not many changes, although I've seen an evolution for this second work. The first thought that came to my mind when it started the play audience, is how the sound of these guys instantly reminded me of bands like SOUNDGARDEN and PEARL JAM, that second one especially in the early works, we can say up to "Yeld." The London quartet formed by Kip, Cam, Reece, Sammy is characterized by its very direct sonority bringing nothing less and nothing more than they proposed with excellent quality. Another aspect that caught my attention was the notorious passion of the members for what they do interpreted by the songs themselves.

The first track of the album is called "Overthrow" and is gaining a stronger and heavier rhythm as it runs in its almost seven minutes. "Coke Dick" shows its crawly, sticky riffs with a classic rock from two decades ago and a killer chorus. This track counts on few changes of pace only alternating slightly its speed during the play. "Clones" slows the vibration a bit with a higher guitar and a softer vocal accompanied by slower, more immersive instruments as if it were a celebration of some ritual. "Rough House" is my favorite track of the work, it's a song that finds itself in the middle between weight and melodic and transmits an incredible emotion through the vocals. "The Ebb" ends differently from the rest of the album, being a more experimental and reflective song. The experience of listening to "No God To Save" made me go back in time in a very nice way reminding me of the my teenage years where I listened a lot to this style of stoner with touches of hard rock countless times. A very simple sound and directed with a lot of emotions and nothing more, it pleased me a lot.
