Since their debut album in 2004, "Stargate", STARGATE transformed from a musical project to a full time band maintaining their main core with Kostas Domenikiotis on bass, Anthimos Manti on guitars and Dimitris Tiktopoulos on vocals and with the addition of Andreas Paraponiaris on keys and Stelios Sioulas on drums released their sophomore album "Reborn". The musical direction of the band is Hard Rock infused with neo classical elements and very melodic vocal lines.

"Reborn" features ten tracks with a total duration of approximately forty minutes. The songs range from three to four and a half minutes. The lyrical themes are personal most of the times dealing with inner turmoil, sentimental issues or personal catharsis. The opener "Music From The Heart" depicts perfectly the neoclassical hard rock style of the band as guitar riffs bind perfectly with strings. The songs have progressive touches here and there which add to the overall flavor of the album. My favorite songs throughout the record are "Reborn", "Music From The Heart" and "Summernights".

One of the things that is shining in the album is the clear and organic production. All the instruments are heard in proper levels with the right dynamics. That allows the music to flow effortlessly. Indeed STARGATE's compositions are well worked and balance almost perfectly between technique and emotion. The short duration of the songs make them straightforward, without any unnecessary parts but straight to the point instead and combined with the clear production the final result is what one would expect from this kind of record. A great asset of the band however, is the talented voice of Tiktopoulos who sings with great emotion and gives the proper feeling to the songs. After eight years STARGATE are indeed "Reborn" offering us a Hard Rock record that brings back all the good qualities of the music we love and it is strongly suggested.
